Joyce Marie Jones Whitehurst 74, a native of New Bern, N.C. passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC She is survived by her husband Wilfred T. Whitehurst, daughters: Kimberly Whitehurst Boyd, Pamela Whitehurst Miller of Greensboro, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers: Lewis Jones of Greensboro, Kristopher Abdel-Wakeel of Silver Springs Maryland, three sisters: Marilyn Pugh of New Bern, Mamie Jones of Greensboro, and Gwendolyn Jones Scott of Raleigh, N.C. The public viewing will be Wednesday, May 10, 2023 3pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 10:30am Bethel AME Church 200 N. Regan Street Greensboro, North Carolina. 10am Visitation. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Bern, North Carolina.
