John(Terry) Louis Lampley went to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 2, 2020. John was born to Louie T. Lampley and Clara Mae Hodge Lampley May 2, 1942 in Harnett County, Lillington, NC. John was a Shawtown High School graduate, class of 1959. After high school, John began his military career in the United States Army. During his career he received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. John is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean and children Douglas Lampley, Jon (Tré) Wellington Lampley and Melanie Brinson(Cornelius); grandchildren, Nathan, Marie-Ange, and Ethan; sibling Rev. Dr. Gail L. Favors; numerous nieces and nephews; close family friends.A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home in Greensboro, NC. Family visitation will begin at 12:30 pm.
