John Norfleet Feimster, age 76, of Greensboro peacefully transitioned on May 15, 2019. He was affectionately known as "Fleet" by family and friends. John was born on December 5, 1942 in Iredell County, North Carolina to the late John W. and Eula Feimster. He graduated from Unity High School in Statesville, NC and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. While at A&T, John served in the United States Air Force and was an Airman during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and completed his degree upon his return. John worked as a Biology instructor for several years in Alamance County. He also worked for Xerox Corporation in Greensboro as a sales representative and training specialist. Yet during this time, he knew his passion was for woodworking. In the early 1980's he started his own home improvement company, Feimster's Woodwork, which he ran solely for forty years until his passing. John built everything from his daughters' Disney crib to grandiose decks and unique furniture. During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to jazz music. He loved taking fishing trips to his favorite watering hole in Hampton, Virginia and bringing the fish home to host fish frys for his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Captain Eugene L. Feimster; three sisters: Billie Gail Moten, Jacqueline Diane Rollins, Carolyn Feimster Houpe and two nephews: Michael Feimster and William Alexander. John leaves to cherish the memory of his life two daughters: Jeanelle D. Feimster of Apex and Jasmin D. Feimster of Charlotte; daughters' mother Gloria Cherry Feimster of Greensboro; one granddaughter Emerson Quinn Roddy of Charlotte; one brother Tony Feimster of Charlotte and dearest companion Peggy McKenzie of Greensboro. He also leaves his five nieces: Dr. Faye Rucker (David) of Statesville, Gwendolyn Alexander of Stony Point, Nikelle Fesperman (Juan) of Charlotte, Tanita Prince of Montgomery, AL, Darlisha Brown of Baltimore, MD and four nephews: Ronnie Houpe (Maria) of Sunrise, FL, Torrey Feimster (Pauline) of Charlotte, Tye Feimster of Charlotte, Ennik Feimster of Las Vegas, NV and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
