Jammie Lee Tillman was born July 1, 1948 to the late Suella Tillman and Alonza McNair in Wadesboro, North Carolina. On September 18th God saw Jammie was getting tired; so He put His arms around Jammie and whispered "come with me." Jammie attended public schools in Chesterfield, South Carolina. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Level Baptist Church. After moving to Greensboro, NC Jammie began working for Bowen Brick Company. He later changed careers and began working in the roofing, carpentry and lawn care industry. Jammie was very talented with his hands and enjoyed working outside and remodeling. Jammie was devoted to his family. He met and married Gail Crump and to this union one son was born, Travis Merrell Tillman. Although the marriage ended, they remained close. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his twin Jimmie Lee Tillman, one sister, five brothers, and two honorary brothers and one brother-in-law. Loving memories will always be held by children, Travis Merrel Tillman, Jammie L. Brice (Charlene) of Greensboro, NC; Two daughters: Angela Hough of Greensboro, NC and Diesha Clay of Charlotte, NC; two granddaughters: Alexandria Rhain Townsend of Candor, NC and Aja Clay of Charlotte, NC; Eight sisters: Mrs Willie Ree Young, Mary Polk and Patricia Royal all of Greensboro, NC; Evelyn Brown (Furman) of Monroe NC, Eula McNair, Genevia Davis, Katherine McNair, Barbara McNair all of Charlotte, NC and one Brother Johnnie W. Tillman of Greensboro, NC one sister-in-law Lillie Mae Hardison of Chesterfield, SC and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends: Sadie Kearns, Jessie Young, Oscar Bittle Jr. and Randy Sandifer.A service honoring his life will be held at St. Phillips Church; 1330 Ashe Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27406; on Friday, September 23, 2016. The visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and the service will follow at 1:00 pm.
