Obituary

James Rudd, Jr. of Sedalia, NC passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Ashton's Health &Rehabilitation, McLeansville, NC.

James was born on September 2, 1951, to the late James and Jeanne Rudd. He is preceded in death by his parents.

James was a member of St. James United Methodist Church of Sedalia for most of his life before later joining McLeansville First Baptist Church, McLeansville, NC.

James enjoyed playing Bingo, assembling puzzles, and coloring. One of his favorite activities was sitting outside of his Sedalia home, under the shade of a tree at the end of the driveway on Burlington Road, waving to folks as they drove by! He was a fan of the gospel music, particularly 'Hold My Mule' sung by the legendary Shirley Caesar. James also enjoyed playing the role of Blind Bartimaeus, singing 'O Lord Have Mercy on Me' in the stage production 'The Old Ship of Zion', which was produced by his beloved mother Jeanne Rudd, and was performed at many churches throughout North Carolina. James was well known for his kind, sweet and lovable personality. He embodied politeness.

Left to cherish his memories are special friend Mrs. Patricia Fitzgerald, his favorite sister-cousins Kelley Radcliffe-Slade and Annette Radcliffe-Mills, and many, many more cousins.

A special thank you to the staff at Ashton's Health & Rehabilitation Center for their kindness, commitment and care of our loved one.
