He also enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling on television. Jacob was kind hearted and loved his ten sisters and three brothers whom he grew up with. Two of Jacobâ??s famous sayings were â??Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,â?? and â??Whoa be unto the doctors and lawyers.â?? He knew that God took care of him each and every day, he loved the lord and came to know him at a very young age.He was a member of Turners Chapel A.M.E. Church, High Point, North Carolina. As a little boy and teenager, Jacob, his father, and some of his sisters and brothers walked for many miles on Sunday mornings to attend service at Turners Chapel Church.Jacob was well thought of at Maple Grove Nursing Facility where he resided for many years until his death. Before going to Maple Grove, he had been in and out of different nursing facilities since in his forties. He was known as a â??Miracle Personâ?? to his family, friends and to the employees where he resided. Jacob never complained about anything, not even a headache. He survived a left broken hip, a right broken hip (both equivalent to a total hip replacement), a left broken femur, gall bladder removal, prostate cancer surgery, two broken shoulders, and he was a diabetic, (but usually ate what he wanted). With all this, he was known by everyone for his great sense of humor, and was referred to as the â??Clown at Maple Grove.â?? Through it all, Jacob, was in a wheel chair, never stopped kneeling down to say his prayers, and he always thanked God for his food. We, the family of JACOB ALLEN INGRAM, give thanks for the long life with us and for the joy he brought into our lives, his great sense of humor and his spiritual presence shall forever remain with us.
