Zion Church1330 Ashe Street, Greensboro, NC ObituaryJack Garnal Hardison was born to the late Josh Hardison and Ophella Hardison on July 4, 1936 in Chesterfield County. He departed this life on July 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Hardison.Jack gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. He moved to Greensboro, NC where he met his wife Darthula McCoy. They were married on October 26, 1959.He later joined St. Philip A.M.E. Zion Church where he served as a faithful member for many years. He served as a preacher steward ten (10) years, a steward, member of the male chorus, Booster Club and Pastor Appreciation Committee #2.Jack was a member of Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge and a Prince Hall Mason of White Oak Lodge #691. He was well known for his CB handle â??Black Jackâ??.Jack was employed at Dolly Madison Bakery where he was a supervisor for several years and also worked for Sherwin Williams. He was later employed at Lorillard where he retired after 27 years of service and 25 years of perfect attendance. While at Lorillard, he bowled for the Late Risers and won many trophies.He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife: Darthula; daughter: Jackie (Reginald) Martin; granddaughter: Mia Nicole Martin; step-mother: Doretha Hardison: brothers: Josh (Gloria) Hardison of Greensboro; Johnnie Hardison of Southfield, MI, and Jessie (Sharon) Hardison of Charlotte; sisters: Clara Kendall of Wadesboro, Sarah Mosley of St. Paul, MN, Myrtle Ward of Greensboro, Eula (Richard) Rush of Charlotte, Lessie (James) Sharp of Gainesville, GA, Mary Ellen Lindsey of Wadesboro, Almeta (Greg) Hanesville of Greensboro and Lora Gayle of Greensboro; sisters-in-law: Delores Davis of Greensboro and Doris Smith of Florida; special nieces: Sonya Gwynn and Tajuana Hardison; special friend: Oscar Bittle, a host of other nieces and nephews.
