GREENSBORO â?? Iris Hancock Johnson, 71, of 510 Fifth Street passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born April 18, 1941in Mt. Holly NC, daughter of the late Willie and Carrie Hancock. Ms. Johnson led a life of extraordinary courage, strength, grace, dignity and was sent to us by by God. Quiet hour will follow at 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at United Institutional Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends at 7505 Summersun Drive, Brown Summit, NC 27214. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; Willie and Carrie Hancock, and son; Juan Bernard Johnson Sr. She leaves this legacy of love and reconciliation to her children; Derrick Leander Johnson (Janet), Christopher Adam Johnson; her grandchildren, Latoya Carrie Johnson, Juan Bernard Johnson Jr., Isaiah Jerel Fox, Marcus Leander Johnson and LaEisha Shaton Robinson; sister, Barbara Hancock Grier (Hubert) of Belmont, NC; brother, Willie Oscar Hancock Jr. of Mt.
