Ilean Bernice Taylor, 91 passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015.  She was born on February 5, 1924 to the late Isaac and Bessie Taylor in Green County, North Carolina.  She was raised in Wayne County and attended Wayne County School system.  She was the middle child of two (2) sisters, the late Hiawatha Savage and Esther Mae McNair. Ilean married Webster Smith and from that union one (1) son James â??Smittyâ?? Smith was born.  She and the family moved to Brooklyn, New York where she worked for Perfect Pearl Jeweler in Manhattan for many years making custom jewelry. Ilean graduated from beautician school and styled hair on the weekends from her home.  She attended Brownâ??s Business School in 1961 and received a certificate in IBM key-punch.  After retirement, her proudest adventure was traveling across the country helping her son and his wife operate their McDonaldâ??s business.  Some of her  restaurant business specialties were, washing breakfast dishes, cleaning the lobby, counseling young employees on proper work ethics and when necessary escorting the homeless out of the lobbyâ??and provided them a meal to go! Ilean leaves her loving memories to be cherished by son: James Smith, Sr. (Debra); grandchildren: Jeanette Tillman, James Smith, Jr. (Sandra), Danielle Smith, Adrian Smith and Monique Smith; great grandchildren: Carol, Ecolia, Shanita, Jumoni, Aaryn, Andrew, Mason and Maya; great great-grandchildren: Ajante Wilson, JaRey Miller, Jamauri Miller, Ahyuland Friday; niece: Shirlene McNair and family. Ms. ILean B. Taylor passed on Thursday July 23, 2015. The visitation for Ms. Taylor will begin at 11am on Friday July 31, 2015 at Providences Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa St, Greensboro, NC 27406.
