Monday, May 14, 2012 11:00 a.m.St. Maryâ??s Catholic Church812 Duke StreetGreensboro, North Carolina 27401Father Michael Manh Nguyen C.M., PastorOfficiating~The Obituary~ Howard Odell Simpson, the son of the late Daniel and Rosa Guy Chirsmon Simpson, was born in Gibsonville, North Carolina on April 23, 1927 and departed this life in Neptune, New Jersey on May 2, 2012.Howard grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and was a member of St. Maryâ??s Catholic Church serving as an Altar Boy (Server) for many years. He graduated from St. Maryâ??s Catholic School.As a young adult, Howard moved to Bartow, Florida, seeking employment in the masonry field. Several years later he relocated to Neptune, New Jersey, where he started his own businessâ??Howard Simpsonâ??s Masonry Contracting Company, Inc. He had resided in Neptune, New Jersey for over forty-five (45) years. Howard dissolved his masonry business and retired in 1993.Working in a weather related trade afforded Howard the opportunity to enjoy his favorite past times of hunting, fishing, and watching spectator sports. In the latter years of his life, he was unable to visit his family frequently, but we always knew he was there in spirit willing to help if needed. He will be missed!Left to cherish his memory: son: Danny Simpson (Dianne); grand-daughters: Yiioski Deberry, and Leslie Meadows (Christopher); great grand-daughters: Sabrina and Pheobe Meadows; sisters: Florence Breathett, Thelma Hatchett both of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Madeline Tatum of Columbus, Ohio. A special friend: Thelma Hariley and family of Neptune, New Jersey; sister-in-laws: Eloise and Vera Simpson; brother-in-law: Thomas Avery; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
