Mr. Heyward Morgan, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 11 am St. Paul Baptist Church 1309 Larkin St. Greensboro, NC. 10:30 am Visitation. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery 3910 Forest Lawn Dr. Greensboro, NC.

Heyward Morgan was born to the late Georgia Mae Morgan and Johnny Thompson on January 11, 1945 in Blair, South Carolina. He departed this life on November 8, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

He was educated in the public schools in Blair. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Heyward moved to Greensboro and met Ada Summers in 1972 and they fell in love and were married. He was employed with Greensboro Manufacturing, Duke Power, and Kayser-Roth.

Heyward was a loving husband, brother, and friend. He was a father figure to many, especially his nephew, the late John C. Bowden. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Carolina Panthers.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Georgia Mae Morgan and Johnny Thompson; his nephew, John C. Bowden; and his beloved dog, Skippy.

Heyward leaves to cherish his memory his loving and precious wife of 51 years, Ada Morgan; two brothers, Ernest (Pamela) Thompson of Greensboro, North Carolina and John Willie Morgan of Columbia, South Carolina; one sister, Bernadette Morgan of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
