Vandalia Road Greensboro, North Carolina Reverend Howard Woods, Officiating~Obituary~ Herman Alexander Thompson, son of the late Frank and Lizzie B. Thompson, was born December 9, 1924. He departed this life on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Beacon Place in Greensboro, North Carolina following a short illness. Herman attended the Chatham County Public Schools. Later he was employed by Pomona Pipe Company and worked faithfully for forty-three (43) years.Herman was a father, a great brother and a loving uncle. He will be greatly remembered for his warm and outgoing personality and a smile that would light up a room. He never met a stranger and befriended everyone he came in contact with.Herman was preceded in death by his brothers: John, Wilbur, Paul, George, Clarence, Frank, Jr. and Roger Thompson.Herman leaves to cherish his memories, sister: Mattie T. Akins (Penny) of Greensboro, North Carolina; daughter: Armintha Hinson; grandson: Michael Railey (Tina) great grandson: Michael Dingle, Jr.; and a very special friend: Bessie Carter, all of Greensboro, North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
