Obituary

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27.

Herman Frazier entered into eternal rest on May 9, 2023 at Moses Cones Hospital. He was born May 7, 1941 to the late Herbert Wall Frazier and Rev. Nellie Manns Frazier of Stokesdale, North Carolina. Herman was married in holy matrimony to his beloved wife, Peggye Jessup for 62 years. Of this union two children were born, Shannon Frazier and Jamilah LaKeisha Frazier.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Herbert Allison Frazier and Mason Douglas Frazier. Herman graduated from Laughlin High School in Summerfield, North Carolina, and retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston Salem, North Carolina with 35 years of service.

Herman accepted Christ in his life at a very young age and became a member of Oak Springs Baptist Church, Stokesdale, NC and served the Lord faithfully in music, and was a member of the choir. He loved music and learned to play at a very young age. Later in his life he resided in Greensboro, NC where he became a member of New Jerusalem Cathedral Church, Greensboro, NC. He served faithfully in the music ministry and GGO choir. He was also a musician for many years at St. Paul Baptist Church, where he played for the Male Chorus.

He also played for The Gospel Stars for a few years. Whatever you needed him to do in ministry he was always available. He loved the Lord and demonstrated the fruits of the spirit. He was a man of integrity, humility and character. He was a man of prayer in his home and had monthly prayer with his neighbors in the community.

Affectionately known as "Papa and Poppy," he truly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed cooking for them, and loved to tell his sister what he was cooking on Sundays and holidays. Cooking brought joy to him and many others that tasted his delicious meals. He truly enjoyed serving others and would volunteer to cook meals for anyone at anytime. Many others called him "Dad Frazier," as he was a spiritual father to many people throughout his life. Herman and his father owned "Frazier's Car Wash" in Stokesdale, NC for many years, and years later Herman established his own business "Shine & Ride Car Detail" in Greensboro, NC. Herman had several contracts with various companies, churches and car lots in the Piedmont-Triad area. Pace Of The Triad was one of his contracts and he enjoyed detailing all of their buses and vehicles for many years. He loved washing and detailing cars. He had a passion for making your vehicles shine and looking clean on the inside. Herman was a very detail-oriented man. He didn't do a rush job on your vehicle. He was so precise in his work that he would clean under the hood of cars to ensure that the vehicles looked brand new and they all did. All of his customers loved his work and would send him new customers regularly.

Herman had a great impact on everyone he met. His sweet spirit will be greatly missed by everyone he encountered. He leaves a great legacy to his loving wife, Peggye Frazier of the home; two children; Pastor Shannon Frazier (Shanel), Texas, Jamilah Lewis (Anthony), Greensboro, NC .
