Mrs. Harriet Beatrice Stephens Patterson was born to the late Cecil and Naomi Stephens along with her twin brother Harry on August 28, 1929 in Guilford County, N.C. She entered into a peaceful rest in the Heartland Living and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, N.C. on January 10, 2017. Harriet was affectionately called Bea by family and friends. She received her education in Brown Summit, N.C. from the Brown Summit Elementary School and graduated from the Brown Summit, High School. After graduating from high school she met and married the late Jeremiah Womack and to that union one son, Harry was born. She later met her soul mate and the love of her life, the late Claude Patterson, Sr., in which she became the mother of his two minor children, Carol and Claude D. Bea was a very kind hearted person by helping to raise her baby sister, Sallye, after the death of their mother. She also allowed numerous family members, both sides, to move in and out of her home when they needed a place to live. She was employed as a Domestic Engineer for several families in Greensboro, N.C. Bea was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church all of her life serving on the Pastorsâ?? aide, Kitchen committee, and several other organizations. She was a faithful member until she was physically unable to attend. Harriet is predeceased by her parents Cecil & Naomi Stephens, her husband Claude D. Patterson, Sr., her twin brother Harry, another brother Marvin, sisters Miranda, Charlotte, Cecilia, and Janice. She leaves to complete her life long earthly journey, her sons, Harry (Helen) Womack of Greensboro, N.C., Claude D. (Rosa) Patterson of Asheboro, N.C., one daughter Carol (Johnny) Layton of Gibsonville, N.C., grandchildren Lamont, Letitia, Carlton, Tariq, 6 great-grandchildren, two brothers George (Angela) Stephens, Detroit, M.I., Robert (Mazie) Stephens, Greensboro, N.C., one sister Sallye (John) Sims, Jersey City, N.J., her special angel of a niece Teresa F. Summers, Brown Summit, N.C., 4 sister in laws, 1 brother in law, a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. A service honoring his life will be held at Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church;4707 NC-150, Browns Summit, NC 27214 on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. The visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. The interment will take place following the service at Lakeview Memorial Park; 3600 N Ohenry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405.
