IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harlan Denise
Haynie Watlington
October 22, 2015
Harlan Denise Haynie Watlington 54, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. Harlan was born on May 19, 1961 to the late Harold Haynie, Sr. and Alice Haynie. She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church of Greensboro, North Carolina. She received an early education at Our Lady Of The Miraculous Medal Catholic School and a graduate of Ben L. Smith High School Class of 1980. She later received a Bachelor of Degree in Business Administration from Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina; and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Harlan was employed at Wendover Funding's Mortgage Loan Department until her health declined. Harlan was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to all. She truly met no strangers. Harlan possessed a heart of gold and shared it through giving and caring for others. Through kind "words and sayings" Harlan spread her elated love; and her famous saying "Hey Baby" was accentuated in every greeting moment. While enduring many struggles and even in her most weakest moments she kept the strength of an angel and often encouraging others. Harlan exhibited faith as small as a mustard seed. Her ambiance and grace will forever be in our hearts. The kindness she shared will forever be in our minds. Her heart warming spirit will spread like a wild fire and mediate in our souls. Harlan is survived by two daughters, Andreka Watlington of Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Ashley Watlington-Simms (Terrence); one son Frederick Harris Jr.; her loving mother, Mrs. Alice Haynie; three sisters, Linda Haynie Claybrooks ( Luther ), Patricia Alexander (Clyde), Vanessa Neal (Norman) and one brother, Harold Haynie, Jr. (Elaine); two grandchildren, Josiah and Terrence, Jr. 'TJ'; a companion and life long friend, Frederick Harris, Sr., all of Greensboro, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Services for Mrs. Watlington will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church,812 Duke St, Greensboro, NC 27401 on Thursday October 29, 2015. The visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. The interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 North O'Henry Boulevard Greensboro, NC 27405.
