Mrs. Gwendolyn Coote was born in Henderson, NC on September 12, 1959 to the late Alvin and Mamie Green. She departed this life on December 24, 2022.

Gwendolyn attended North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, NC and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1981. After graduating from North Carolina A&T University, Gwendolyn went on to work at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC, and ended her career as the Vice President of Fair Lending.

Gwendolyn married Michael F. Coote on September 21, 1985, and the two were married for 37 years. To this union three children were born, Lauren, Michael Alexander, and Krystin.

Gwendolyn loved her family, gardening, cooking up new food recipes, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with those she loved. She had a loving spirit, a very caring personality, and a big heart. If you ever needed someone to talk to, Gwendolyn was always there and ready.

Gwendolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband Michael F. Coote, daughters Lauren Coote and Krystin Coote, son, Michael Alexander Coote, granddaughter, Rylee Coote-Grevious (all in the Charlotte area), her sisters, Hazel Perry (Richmond, VA), Toynetta Green (Richmond, VA), Ella Wilkins (Henderson, NC), Connie Yancey-Davis and Gloria Green (Morrisville, NC), brother, Kenneth Green (Henderson, NC), and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 2pm East Stone Wall AMEZion Church 1729 Griers Grove Road Charlotte, North Carolina.
