Glory Jean (Chance) Jamison was born on January 6, 1963 to the late Bennie Sam and Mary Chance in Apex, North Carolina. Glory departed this life on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Glory graduated from Apex High School in 1981. Following graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Army. She served her country for 7 years. During this time, Glory met and wed her husband of 32 years. In 1987, their daughter, Erica was born and in 1995 their son, Eric was born. Glory was full of life and lived it to the fullest. She loved to dance, travel, sell homes, and meet people. She never met a stranger wherever she went. Once she ended her career in the military, she embarked on working for the Internal Revenue Service as an Administrative Clerk. She worked her way up to Revenue Officer along with obtaining her license as a Real Estate Broker. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, the Young Adult Choir, and supported any other areas as needed. Glory was also a 25-year Breast Cancer Survivor, a badge she wore proudly. Glory was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John. We do not mourn as those without hope, for we shall see her again. Glory leaves to cherish fond memories, a loving & devoted husband Earnest of the home; one daughter Erica of Columbia, SC and one son Eric of Greensboro, NC; five brothers: Columbus and James of Apex, NC, Sammie (Kim) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Greg (Deneen) of Garner, NC; two sisters: Mary Delois of Apex, NC and Brenda Ann of Raleigh, NC; one father-in-law, Robert Jamison of St. Matthews, SC; five sisters-in-law: Eartha J. Mosley, Vernell Jenkins, and Priscilla Franklin of St. Matthews, SC, Gearl Jamison of Washington, D.C. and Aorline (Lee) Brunson of Lakeland, Fl.; one brother-in-law: Anthony (Eloise) Jamison of Lexington, SC., and two Goddaughters: Christie and Jayda, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and coworkers.
A service honoring her life will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at New Bethel Baptist Church; 1116 Montlieu Ave. High Point, NC. The visitation will begin at 10 am and the service will follow at 11 am. The interment will take place following the service at Lakeview Memorial Park; 3600 N O'Henry Blvd. Greensboro, NC.
