Obituary

Gloria S. Comer-Hardison was born on October 16, 1937 to the late Rozell and Annie Comer in Guilford County. She received her secondary education and graduated from James B. Dudley High School. Gloria was employed by Superior Knit early in life and later worked in home health for many years. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to raising her children and grand-children. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Rozell and Annie Comer; loving husband, Josh Hardison; dear brother, Charles Comer; and her beloved son, Tony Comer. Gloria leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Gregory Comer; daughters, Sonya (Tony) Gwynn & Tajuana (Hayward) Parker; grandchildren, Gregory, Khauli, Brittney, Whittney, Tarshel, Diamond, Landon, and Destiney; great-grandchildren, Zamyah, Kaliyah, Dallas, Caleb, Corbin; Goddaughter, Teresa (Rahsul) Burney; and special friend, Maxine Daye and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gloria was a phenomenal woman, well-known in her community in North Carolina and was loved by all. She loved to sing and opened up for various artist. Gloria enjoyed listening to the blues. Her favorite artist was B.B. King. She opened her home up to anyone who needed a place to rest or a good meal to eat. Gloria was definitely an outspoken DIVA who loved the Glam and Glitz. A service honoring her life will be held at the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel; 909 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 on Saturday, October 21, 2017. The visitation will begin at 1:30 pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park; 3600 N Ohenry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405.
