Obituary

Glenice Hope Morgan Robinson departed this life on July 24, 2018. She was born December 15, 1940 to the late Juanita and Tommy F. Bowen, and grew up in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School. She later married her high school sweetheart, the late Bernard M. Robinson, and birthed three lovely daughters. Glenice completed coursework at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NCA&TSU) and began her career as a distinguished and dedicated Administrative Secretary working for several prominent employers such as the University of North Carolina-Greensboro School of Business and Economics, NC A&T State University Department of Business and Distributive Education, Saint James Presbyterian Church (USA), and the North Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, where she retired. Glenice was a faithful and longtime member of Saint James Presbyterian Church (USA). In addition to her administrative work, she served as a Deacon, a Trustee, a member of the Women's Inspirational Ensemble, and Chancel Choirs, Presbyterian Women, both secretary and treasurer of the Essie B. Meares Circle, and as a Stephen Minister. She enjoyed spending time with family and took great joy in communicating with her friends on social media. Her kindness, dedication, free-heart, and infectious voice and manner will never be forgotten. Glenice was preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Tommy F. Bowen; husband, Bernard M. Robinson; and daughter, Angela Robinson Murphy. She is survived by daughters: Courtney Robinson and Gretchen Robinson; grandchildren: Kristan Robinson, April Murphy, Christopher Robinson, Robert Murphy, Frederick Robinson, Michael Murphy, and Marcus Smallwood; 10 great-grandchildren: two nieces, one son-in-law, and a host of extended family and friends. A service honoring her life will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. James Presbyterian Church; 820 Ross Ave. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 10:30 am and the service will follow at 11 am. The interment will take place following the service at Westminster Gardens; 3601 Whitehurst Rd. Greensboro, NC.
