Hickman, Senior PastorOn Wednesday, April 13, 2011, Gladys Wiley Black was called home to be with the Lord. She accepted Christ at an early age and served on the Motherâ??s Board at Word of Life Pentecostal Church of Christ in Greensboro, North Carolina.â??Mrs. Blackâ??, as she was affectionately called, was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to Slade and Mattie Wiley where she attended Dudley High School.Gladys loved being with her family and taking road trips with her beloved husband of 39 years, Charles Black. She retired from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Child Development Laboratory where she prepared nutritious meals for the â??Little Aggiesâ??. She was truly loved and adored by all.Gladys is survived by her husband, Charles and five children: daughters, Devetta Silver, Wanda Callahan (Clay), Paulette Williamson (Terry), Barbara Silver and son, Barry black (Petrola); four step-children, Carolyn, Beverly, James, Jr., and Anthony. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, Nique, Deanna, Latoya, Crystal, Trenton, Bryan, Cameron, Tyler, Sierra, Jordan and Aaron; 13 great grandchildren, Jaquan, Kelron, Tyshaun, Asia, dyani, Elisha, Yasmin, Donovan, Christopher, Breon, Jayden, Nicca and Maliea.Gladys was the youngest of seven children and is survived by two sisters, Ella Hamer of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, and Yvonne Beatty of Greensboro, North Carolina, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Perry J.
