George Widemon, 91, of Greensboro, North Carolina died on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Wideman a lifelong resident of Greensboro was a native of Greenville, SC. He was a decorated World War II veteran and an avid sportsman. He is survived by a son, George M. and a daughter, Bonita Lavern Batten, both of Greensboro, and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 12 noon, Shiloh Baptist Church, 1210 South Eugene St., Greensboro, 27406. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Shiloh Baptist Church Boys Baseball League.
