Dr. Franklin Thomas Warren, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Dr. Warren spent more than two decades teaching business operations and supply chain management, organization and management, and entrepreneurship at Bennett College for Women and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T), most recently as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Business Information Systems and Analytics in N.C. A&T’s Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics. He also held progressively responsible positions at Fortune 500 companies in the private sector, including General Electric, IBM and Accenture LLC.

A graduate of James Benson Dudley High School (Dudley) ‘90 in Greensboro, Dr. Warren held a B.S. in Electronics and Computer Technology ‘96 and a M.S. in Industrial Technology ‘98 from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T). He recently completed his Ph.D. in Business Information Technology (management sciences) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and has held leadership roles in numerous academic, professional and service communities throughout his career. He was a member of N.C. A&T’s Epsilon Pi Tau International Honor Society for Technology and Virginia Tech’s Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. A die-hard Aggie, he was passionate about the education of his students.

Dr. Warren also served on the Greensboro South Elm/Eugene State Employees’ Credit Union Advisory Board and taught life insurance classes for Primerica Financial Services.

Dr. Warren enjoyed cooking, baking, grilling, trying out special dishes, dancing, bowling, golfing, listening to music, photography, technology, accessorizing his wardrobe, and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed football and did not mind telling anyone about when he played football at Dudley and N.C. A&T. He also enjoyed teaching SAT Prep classes and being part of the Drama Guild production staff at Providence Baptist Church where he was a member since childhood.

Franklin was preceded in death by his father, Leon Warren, Sr., and his mother, Margaret Carlton Warren. Franklin is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Yvette Lewis Warren and brother, Leon Warren II. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Nathaniel Lewis Sr.; mother-in-law “moms”, Lizzie Lewis; sisters-in-law, Letitia Lewis and Natlie Lewis (Sheree); and brother-in-law Nathaniel Lewis II. He leaves to cherish his memories nephews, Jalil Carver, Leon (Trey) Warren III, Justin Warren, Jaelin Warren, Nathaniel Lewis III; niece, Irene Elizabeth Lewis; godson, Kalen Lovick; goddaughter, Kierra Lovick; beloved members of the family, Nadia Lewis and Camela Warren; uncles, cousins, friends, church family, colleagues, students, and the community that knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Providence Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa Street Greensboro, North Carolina, 27406. The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m., and the service starts at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, North Carolina.
