After a protracted battle with cancer, Frank â??Dooneyâ?? Geater Jr. went on to be with our Heavenly Father on March 1, 2016 at his home in Greensboro,NC at the age of 62. He leaves behind his loving & devoted wife, Margaret Ann Geater; Â daughter Erica Payne, son, Eric Payne; and step-daughters, Alicia & Sharina Rudd.

Frank (Dooney) was born July 26, 1953 in Guilford County to both late father, Frank Geater Sr. and mother, Flossie Geater (Rippy). He grew up in a large, loving family with brothers; Ray Hubbard, Kenneth Rippy, Rodney Rippy and sisters; Thelma Woods (preceded him in death), Jean Davidson (Willie), Pam Jennings, and Beverly Rippy. He worked as a skilled tradesmen for the City of Greensboro until a tragic accident caused him to lose sight in one eye disabling him from the general workforce. Nonetheless, this did not prevent him from providing for his family and contributing to his community.Â

Frank had a way with words and was known for speaking his mind at any given moment. Even in his last moments here on Earth, he maintained his sense of humor and had a smile in his heart. Frank had given his life to Christ at his home church, Love & Faith Christian Fellowship and when the day came, his final words expressed that he was at peace.Â

Frank not only leaves his wife, children, brothers & sisters to cherish his memory. He also has 8 grandchildren, all of whom he loved so dearly; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives & friends to carry on his memory.  A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Love and Faith Christian Fellowship Church, 4344 Blackberry Road, Greensboro, North Carolina 27406. The visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. The Interment will be held at Beulah  United Church of Christ in Liberty, North Carolina.
