Frances Keck Robinson, 80, transitioned on May 7, 2019 at Beacon Place, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. Mrs. Robinson was born October 4, 1938 in Greensboro, N.C. and was the daughter of the late Carl B. Keck, Sr. and Estella E. Keck. Viewing is scheduled for 11:00am on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home. A service honoring her life will be held at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC 27401 on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm with the homegoing service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N. O'Henry Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27405. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Carl B. Keck, Jr. and Bobby E. Keck. Mrs. Robinson was a proud graduate of James B. Dudley High School (Class of '56) and Bennett College of Greensboro. She began her career working for The Charlotte, NC School System in the 1960s. She later worked in Newark, New Jersey, before returning home to help manage and subsequently own and operate the family business, Daniel-Keck Taxi Co., Inc. Prior to her passing she was employed by Guilford County Schools Transportation, where she fondly served special needs children and their families for almost twenty-two years. Mrs. Robinson enjoyed cooking, dining out with friends and family, visiting with former classmates and keeping up with current events. Survivors include sons: Therron J. Phipps (Ruby) and Rev. Randall L. Phipps (Cynthia) both of Greensboro; grandchildren: Garret B. Phipps and Joshua Bradshaw both of Greensboro; surrogate daughters: Diane Ervin of Charlotte and Camala Hayes of Greensboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and dear friends.
