She departed this earthly life on September 4, 2013 in Richmond, Virginia. Niecy was raised by her grandparents, the late Walter and June Dearmon. She was educated in the Guilford County School System, graduating from Western Guilford Senior High in 1978. Niecy attended Bennett College in 1978 until deciding to venture into the Job Corps. She returned from Job Corps and attended Rutledge College in Greensboro receiving a Bachelorâ??s degree in Business Administration. She moved to Richmond, Virginia in 1984. She was employed by Henrico County Public Works for 22 years. She was also a Pittsburgh Steelers #1 Fan.Niecy was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend. She was a very loving and caring person. She was a little sister to her Aunts: Shirley, Betty and Faye; and a big sister not only to her own siblings but all her cousins in the Dearmon clan. She was always there with her advice, guidance, and sassy views for all who dared to listen. Niecy may have been small in stature but LARGE in LOVE! She was preceded in death by her mother Cassie D. Hagler, maternal grandparents who reared her, Walter and June Dearmon, and sister, Barbra Ann Dearmon.Niecy leaves to cherish her memories, her long time mate Phillip Blackwell of Richmond, Virginia; sisters: Stephanie Hagler, Candy Atoyebi of Greensboro, NC and Phyllis Oliver of Lexington, North Carolina; brothers: Henry Hagler and James Dearmon; nephews: Reggie and Coley Dearmon, Carlton Griffin, Jr. of Greensboro, and Stephen Hagler, USMC of Jacksonville, North Carolina; six (6) great-nieces and two (2) great-nephews, and a host of cousins, friends, and others who adored her.
