Obituary

Eva DeJournette Alexander was born November 26, 1941 in Greensboro, NC. On April 8, 2014, God sent one of His angels and called Eva Home to be with Him.

Eva attended Greensboro Public Schools. She attended Washington Street Elementary. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School, class of 1963. She attended Katie B. Reynolds Nursing School in Winston Salem, NC, where she received a registered nurses degree.

Eva served in the United States Military Air Force, where she worked her way up to the rank of Captain. Eva was a natural born singer. She loved to sing professionally. She had a passion for traveling abroad and around the world and was fortunate to visit some of the world's most beautiful countries.

Eva loved all people. She had a personality that was bigger than life. She had a passionate Christian spirit. She affectionately called most people she knew "baby". She respected all denominations. She lived her life teaching from her favorite book in the Bible which is Psalms 91.

Loving memories of Eva will always be held by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Eddie DeJournette and Juanita Wharton; and her only sister: Mrs. Annie Pearl Bess.

Eva is survived by her siblings: Henry DeJournette of Greensboro, NC, James DeJournette of Minot, North Dakota, Charles DeJournette of Savannah, GA; and brother-in-law: Martin Bess of Greensboro, NC. She had no biological children, yet a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
