Obituary

Eva Ruth Curry was born May 12, 1935 in Kershaw, South Carolina to the late Aron and Eva Mae Stewart. She grew up in Cross Road B. Church and sang in the Junior Choir. Eva worked in the tobacco fields and later as a young lady became good friends with Edward Clyburn and they eventually got married. To this union the joy of their life was born, Edward, Jr. Unfortunately, this union would soon draw to an end. Eva, having to care for her ailing mother , Eva May Stewart, in addition to her son Edward, Jr., decided it best to leave New York returning to her roots in the Carolinas making a home for herself and her loved ones in Greensboro. In December of 1976, a most wonderful gentleman named John C. Curry would later meet, fall in love and marry the love of his life, one Ms. Eva Ruth Stewart making her the happiest woman on Earth. "It was like being married for the very first time. And every day was a good day. Know that Eva Ruth enjoyed 21 years of Love & Happiness with her soul mate affectionately known as J.C. Eva Ruth was a highly skilled seamstress crafting custom made draperies and the like for large department stores. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting for her family and friends which many can attest. In addition to her life's passion, she also enjoyed jigsaw and word search puzzles and visiting her family and friends. Eva leaves to cherish her memories: grandsons, Tarik Clyburn and Omar Clyburn; great grand-daughters, Aaliyah Clyburn and Ava Clyburn; sister-in-law, Vera Mungo; niece, Annie Fisher (Chris) of Monroe, North Carolina; cousins, Loretta Bigelow, Roscoe Stewart, and host of loving relatives and friends such as Pat Appling.
