Mrs. Ethel K. Brooks Thrower was born in Greensboro, NC on August 25, 1939 to the late Sampson and Lena Brooks. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Beacon Place at AuthoraCare Collective hospice facility.

Ethel was a graduate of Dudley High School and was a housekeeper for over 30 years. She was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Cathedral for many years, where she was a former member of the choir as well as a member of the Pastor's Aide Club. She loved to sing, color, cook, and spend time with her family.

Ethel is preceded in death by her husband Leroy Thrower, her daughters Marsha L. Cullins and Karen E. Thrower. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Patricia Anderson of Greensboro, NC, son Timothy Thrower(Alexis) of Knightdale, NC, daughter Angie Rogers(John) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

"I'm Going Home" Don't cry for me, because I'm going to that heavenly place that I've heard about all my life. God has assured me that there are family and friends there waiting. So dry your tears. I'm in a better place, where there is no more suffering and enduring pain. Don't cry; I'm not alone and I'm not gone, I'm still here in your hearts.

I'm leaving you in God's hands now. He said, "Once you decide to follow His path in this life that someday we will see each other again in His holy temple where there is only everlasting and eternal life". Remember my family, I am not dead, I have just begun to live! ~Karen Thrower

A private graveside service will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, NC.
