Edward Holloway Greene (Master brick and stone mason) high school vocational educational instructor, civil rights motivator, mentor, life-long member of the NAACP, Mason and avid landscaper, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the age of 95 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He second to the oldest of ten children born to Eva Swinton and Edward Green of Charleston, South Carolina. A male cousin, Clarence B. Williams was an adopted member of the family which increased the number of children to 11. Edward is preceded by his parents Eva Swinton and Edward Green, sister Edena Greene Deas Morales, brothers; William and Calvin Green, cousin Clarence B. Williams. He is survived by his longtime faithful companion, Delores Wainwright, his daughter Lisa Greene, son Reginald Greene, his sister Yvonne Greene King, five brothers, Bernard, Paul, Hubert (Iris), Raymond (Mary) and Carl (Elizabeth) Greene, his loyal personal health aide, Brenda McGirt, along with a host of relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ on 2909 Phillips Avenue Greensboro, North Carolina 27405 at 1:00 pm. A celebratory repast will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church Family Life Center 1210 S. Eugene Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27406.
