She was born to Lencie and Othella Matthews on October 28th, 1939 in Cumberland County, NC. She had two older brothers, Joseph and Bobby. The family moved to Durham, NC before her fifth birthday, where she graduated from Hillside High School. She attended college in Brooklyn, New York at Brooklyn School of Nursing. Following college, she continued to live in New York, where she worked as a registered nurse. It was in New York that she met Oliver C. Moseley, whom she was married to for twenty-five years. She received her Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from University of Massachusetts. She began her career in administrative work as Director of Surgical Nursing at Wake Medical Center, in Raleigh, NC. She left Wake Medical Center to be Director of Nursing at L. Richardson Hospital in Greensboro, NC, in 1984, and following the closure of L. Richarson, she moved to Alamance Regional, in Burlington, NC, where she retired as director of Homecare Providers, the hospice arm of Alamance Regional Medical Center.

HOBBIES

She bowled weekly for over 50 years, and "adopted" NCA&T as an alma mater soon after moving to Greensboro, attending homecoming festivities yearly and maintaining season football and basketball tickets. An avid reader of inspirational biographies, she also was a member of a book club. Another favorite activity was travel, and in her lifetime she has traveled to every corner of the earth and at one time attended the Essence Festival yearly.

She is survived by her son, Kofi N. Moseley, daughter Patricia Marable-Williams and her husband Mike Williams. Grandchildren, Terrence Marable, Jr. Christopher Michael Marable.
