Deloise Juanita (Pullen) Williamson was the 5th child born to Franklin Pullen and Lillie Mae Pullen. She went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Deloise was educated in the Cleveland County School system and graduated in 1963 from Douglas Senior High School. She then attended Livingston College in 1963 and later graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1975 with a degree in English. Professionally, Deloise worked as a teacher's aide in the Cleveland County Schools until her graduation from NC A&T State University. She was employed at the North Carolina Employment Security Commission in 1975 until her retirement in 1999, as a Claims Supervisor. On September 14,1965, Deloise was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Edward Williamson. To this union was born two children, Clarence Jerome Williamson (Chuckie) and Christopher Brandon Williamson. Deloise was a devout member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. At New Zion, she was a member of the Senior Choir, served with the Pastor's Aide, Hospitality and Culinary Arts Ministries. She served each faithfully until her health began to fail. As a part of the "Kitchen Crew" (as it was so aptly known during her tenure) Deloise dismissed herself during an event when the team was serving and said, "I'll see you all later." To everyone's surprise she returned and single-handedly took care of all the dishes, pots and pans! This became her mantra. Deloise was an avid reader of Danielle Steele and other authors. She was very active and enjoyed walking and other exercise activities, and loved the company of her sisters, brothers, and other relatives. Deloise was preceded in death by her parents Franklin M. Pullen and Lillie Mae Pullen; and siblings Gaynell Barber, Franklin Pullen, and Benjamin Pullen. Left to cherish fond memories are her loving husband, Clarence (Sneaky) Williamson; her children, Chuckie (Beth) and Chris; sisters Shirley (Norris) Smith and Eleanor Hortense (Kenneth) Jamison; grandchildren Cory Williamson, Chase Williamson, Camden Williamson, Deja Rudison-Williamson, Aeriel Rudison-Williamson, and Toshj Johnson; and one great grandson, Kaydence Brown. Graveside service will be held Monday, April 6, 2020 at Guilford Memorial Park.
