Deborah Goins Douglas departed this life on April 19, 2019. She was born April 12, 1953 in Sumter, South Carolina, Oconee County to the late William I. Goins, Sr. and Ximena Hayes Goins. Deborah was a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&TSU) in Greensboro, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Science Degree in Education Guidance & Human Resources. She was employed by Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) as an Adult Education Teacher. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, Inc. Deborah was preceded in death by brother, William I. Goins Jr. and grand-niece, Jasmine Goins. Deborah leaves to cherish loving memories, husband: James of forty-three (43) years; son: Sterling Jamal Douglas of New York, nieces: Kelly Goins Irving (Ronald) of Greensboro, Melinda Y. Goins of Charlotte, NC and Crystal Goins Hall (Cicero) of Greensboro; eight (8) great nieces and nephews: Justin Hall, Jaydon Hall, Joshua Irving, Jordan Hall, David Irving, Joy Hall, Jason Hall and Jonah Coble Hall; mother-in- law: Louanna Douglas of Greensboro; and sisters-in-law: Mae Douglas of Greensboro, Joyce Hopkins of Trenton, New Jersey and Lois Henderson of Westbury, New York. A service honoring her life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church; 1301 Alamance Church Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406 on Thursday, April 25, 2019. The visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. The burial will take place following the service at Lakeview Memorial Park; 3600 N Ohenry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405.
