Mr. David Ray Dorsett passed on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home, 909 E. Market St., Greensboro, NC. at 2:00 pm.

David Ray Dorsett was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on October 13, 1958 to Ida Glover and Ben Dorsett. He was promoted to glory on March 21, 2023 at his home. David graduated and obtained his high school diploma from Page High School. David also attended Winston Salem State University. David retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company where he worked dutifully for twenty years.

In David's leisure, he enjoyed cooking, singing, gardening, reading suspense novels, watching the Dallas Cowboys and UNC-Chapel Hill games. David especially loved reading the Bible. David enjoyed spending time with his weekly prayer group sharing God's word and praying for people.

He leaves behind two beautiful daughters: Essence Dorsett Warren and Yecola Abney; beloved sister: Angelenna Dorsett Covington; brothers: Dwight, Kenny, Forest, and Mark Dorsett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
