Mr. David Campbell departed this earthly life on March 9, 2021. David was born on March 25, 1950 to the late Detroit and Margret Campbell. He was the 4th of 9 children. David was a native of Stokes County, NC. He attended the Guilford County school system and graduated from Northwest High School in 1969. That same year he proudly went to serve his country and enlisted in the US NAVY. He returned from service in 1971. In 1972, he enrolled at Guilford College and obtained his Associates Degree in 1975. In 1980 he began his employment at Convatec and remained a loyal and faithfulemployee until 2006 when he retired. In 1988 he married his longtime partner Vernell Campbell and they have remained happily married since that time. Together, they built a loving life and beautiful family. David will be remembered as a hardworking man, whom loved family and friends. David was a kind gentle soul who would help anyone he could. He will also be remembered for his love of Carolina basketball and NASCAR. He will be greatly missed by one and all. David is proceeded in death by his parents; Detroit and Margret, a beloved niece and nephew; La'Dawnne Campbell and Henry Davis, brothers-in-law Bobby Phillips and JD Phillips He is survived by his loving wife; Vernell Campbell, 4 children; Devin Campbell, Karen Jackson, Lucie Dyer and Christopher Phillips all of the home, 7 Siblings; Detroit Jr, Edward, Linda, Audrey, Alice, Ted and Johnny, brother-in-law; John Phillips, 2 sisters-in-law; Carrie Phillips and Mae Phillips, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom will all miss him dearly.

A public viewing will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel .A Private Chapel Service will be held Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.
