Crystal Vanessa Phifer died on Thursday, December 14, 2017. She was born September 9, 1954 in Greensboro, NC to the late Ellen G. and William Phifer, Jr. She Graduated from James B. Dudley High School and Bennett College and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Crystal retired from United States Postal Service and was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. She is survived by her brother William Anthony Phifer (Wanda); niece, Carmen Phifer Foster; great nephew, Marcus Foster (Daisa); great niece, Mykayla Foster; great nephew, Cameron Foster; great-great nephew, Isaiah Foster; a special cousin who was like a sister, Bonita Staton (John); and a host of cousins and friends. Family visitation will begin at 1:30 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 followed by funeral services starting at 2:00 pm at St. Matthews United Methodist Church.
