Cofeen Hayes Isley, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, departed this life on July 12, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born November 30, 1935 in Brown Summit, North Carolina to the late Robert C. Hayes, Sr. and Mozelle Ayers Hayes. Cofeen was the fourth of six children and was educated in Guilford County School System where she graduated from James B. Dudley High in 1954. Cofeen worked for over thirty years at McLeod Belting Company, Inc. retiring in 1997. Before her employment with McLeod, she was employed with Moses Cone Hospital. Cofeen joined the Bethel AME Church at an early age and was an active member until her health declined. She was a part of the Harris Odessa Missionary Circle, Gospel Choir, Sunday School and the Bethel Lights. She really enjoyed working with the children and encouraged them to always do their best. In May of 1956 she married the late Thomas L. Isley, Sr. and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mildred Davis, Delores Coppadge, brother, Robert C. Hayes Jr. Cofeen's love for people was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved her family and was a friend to all. Left to cherish her memory are five children, Cynthia Jacobs, of Tamaraca, Fla., Thomas L. Isley, Jr. (Mary), Rebecca F. Isley, Martinus L. Isley (Ashley), Rico J. Isley all of Greensboro, NC. Six grandchildren, Donald Lowe, Jr., Isaiah Flowers, Toshira Isley, LaShawn Isley, Dominique Isley, and Makiah Isley, three great-grandchildren, two sisters Alfrema Chambers and Jessie Alston of Greensboro, NC, and nephews, nieces, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends. A service honoring her life will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Bethel A.M.E Church; 200 N Regan St. Greensboro, NC 27401. The visitation will begin at 11 am and the service will follow at 11:30 am. The interment will take place following the service at Lakeview Memorial Park' 3600 N O'Henry Blvd. Greensboro, NC.
