Charles or Boe" or "Surge" as known by many was born August 11, 1965 in Greensboro, NC to Charlie Surgeon and Alice Lewis (Hooker). In 1983, he graduated from James B. Dudley High School. Thereafter, he enlisted in the US Army. During his childhood, he enjoyed football, track and field. Surge always had a unique style about him you would find him in a three-piece suit and sunglasses even for a regular dinner. Boe loved his family and would take the clothes off his back for any of them if needed. He enjoyed cookouts, going to the movies, and family time with his girls. After returning from Kentucky, he attended community college where he studied accounting. Charles was employed by the US Postal Service for 31 years where he was a supervisor. On a typical Saturday morning, you could find him at the barbershop talking life stories with the crew. Surge is survived by his two daughters Ashley LeSane and her husband Craig of Greensboro, NC, Brittane' Jarrell and her husband Chad of Clayton NC; 1 grandchild Jani. His mother Alice Lewis of Greensboro, NC. His brother James Surgeon of Greensboro, NC. His niece Sierra Moore of Greensboro, NC (Michelle, Hayden, Olivia). A host of aunts, cousins, friends, classmates and "Kingsmen" that loved him dearly and often came to him for advice or a good laugh. A service honoring his life will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at Love & Faith Christian Fellowship; 4344 Blackberry Rd. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 1 pm and the service will follow at 1:30 pm.
