Chardwick Sharp (Chad), fondly known by his family and friends as Sarge, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the age of 52 at his home in Greensboro, NC. Chad was born on March 24, 1964 in Eden, NC to Nancy Sharp Joyce and the late Charlie W. Sharp. During his high school years, Chad excelled in football, basketball and track and was frequently featured in the local newspaper. Chad continued on his pursuit of excellence and graduated from NC A&T State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and later obtained a Masters of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. His love of math and statistics led him to obtain his Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification. Chad was last employed at Central Carolina Products in Burlington, NC as a Quality Manager. Chad was a proud marine and served his country well, with honor, pride and dignity. Chad will forever be known for his willingness to always lend a helping hand, his love of animals and his contagious smile. Chad never met a stranger, and was affectionately called a "Gentle Giant" by those who knew him. He was preceeded in death by his loving father, Charlie W. Sharp; grandparents Ida Webster Withers, Earnest Hairston, Charlie Sharp, Sr., Susie Perkins Sharp and his beloved niece, Tresa B. Foddrell. Chad leaves to cherish his memory, three sons that he loved dearly, Keith, Christopher and Phillip; two granddaughters Kaelyn and Eden; his beloved mother, Nancy Sharp Joyce; a sister, Ida Charlier Fodrell; neices and nephews, Charnae Fodrell (Kari); Kelsey, Kevin and Katelyn Porter, Derrick (Andrea), Madeleine and Jacob Boone and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.A service honoring his life will be held at Providence Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27406 on Saturday, October 8, 2016. The visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. The interment will take place following the service at Lakeview Memorial Park;3600 N Ohenry Boulevard, Greensboro, North Carolina 27405.
