Cecil Tafalieo Moore, also known as Sachmo, was born on June 9, 1952, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to the late James and Dorothy Mae Moore. Cecil transitioned from earth to heaven at the age of 73 on May 17, 2026. 

Cecil attended Dudley High School, where he graduated class of 1970. After graduating, He joined and served in the US Air Force. Cecil then worked at Morsette Paper Company, where he also played baseball. After leaving Morsette, Cecil went on to work for the Solid Waste Management of Greensboro City for 22 years. 

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Mae Moore and his brother Jerry Wayne Moore. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sharon Meadows Moore, of 40 years of marriage. A son, Antonio Meadows of Greensboro, NC. Mother-in-law Sally Mae Meadows. Six Grandchildren, Antaysha (Juwan), Anaysha, Sherron, Dominick, Ja’mes and Antonio Jr. Three great grandchildren, Ava, Ari and Ravi. A brother, James Moore (Annette). Three sisters: Bernadine Lindsey, Wanda Moore Mc Daniels (Mike) and Bonita G Moore. His sisters-in-law are Linda Murray, Barbra Meadows, Joan Meadows-Fuller (Marion), and Catina Austin (Frankie). Brothers-in-law, James Meadows (Shelia) Walter Daryl Meadows (Joyce), and Andre Meadows, all of Greensboro, NC. Cecil has a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cecil Tafalieo Moore, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 12pm Cassie Coote Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home 909 East Market Street Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation 11:30am.

Burial will held at Salisbury National Cemetery Salisbury, North Carolina.
