GREENSBORO â?? Catherine Louise Staton, 60, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, January 17 at Genesis Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors and friends from 6 p.m. until the service. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, January 18 at Lakeview Memorial Park. A lifelong member of Mt. Olivet A.M.E. Zion Church, she was a 20-year employee of N.C. A&T State University, and formerly a 23-year employee of King's Barbecue. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen E. Staton, father, Charles Staton, Sr., maternal grandmother, Blanche M. Taylor, and paternal grandmother Ulma S. Sawyer. Survivors include six brothers: Norris Lee, Charles, Jr. (Beverly), Kenneth (Portia), Keith, Terry, and Michael Staton; four sisters, Elizabeth S. Redmond, Nancy S. Hines (James), Frances S. Jackson, and Darlene Staton; special cousin, Hortense "Gail" Richmond (Franklin); and many other relatives and friends. Perry J. Brown Funeral Home is assisting the family.
