Obituary

Ms. Carolyn Barber, beloved daughter of James and Bessie Barber was born September 13, 1950 in Ridgeway, South Carolina. On Wednesday May 16, 2018 she passed on to her heavenly home. Carolyn was a proud graduate of James B. Dudley High School, Class of 1968. She worked for Speedline Corporation for 38 years where she developed many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed her work and during her tenure she received numerous awards and accolades. All who worked with her loved her. Carolyn aka 'Queen B' was an amazing woman. All who had the opportunity to know her, loved her. There are so many words to describe her personality such as kind hearted, loving, funny, bold and very direct and most of all loyal and committed. You could always depend on her to do exactly what she said she would. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her only son, Timothy, he was her pride and joy. She loved him more than she loved life itself. She affectionately referred to him as 'Harpo' and he called her 'Ms. Celie'. She leaves to cherish her life, devoted son: Timothy J. Barber (Debbie); two brothers: Willie J. Barber and Tony B. Barber; three sisters: Gloria Cobb (Tony), Angela Gooding (Milton), and Leslie Jenkins (Dennis); three grandchildren: Shanee Reaves Barber, Lauren Oakley and Timothy Jaxson Barber; seven great grandchildren: London, Angel, Noah (Shanee) and Tahj, Malaya, Auri, and Kaynan (Lauren); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. While we will miss her dearly she is now in her final resting place, so we rejoice in knowing that she is at peace at last.

A service honoring her life will held Monday, May 21, 2018 at Love & Faith Christian Fellowship; 4344 Blackberry Rd. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 11 am and the service will follow at 11:30 am. The interment will take place following the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery; 3901 Forest Lawn Dr. Greensboro, NC.
