Mrs. Carol Williams passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 3 pm Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home. 2:30 pm Visitation.

Mrs. Carol Jean Williams was born on April 30, 1945, in Guilford County, North Carolina. She was the oldest daughter of John and Sarah Dunmore. On January 10, 2023, she departed this life at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina after a brief illness. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School in the class of 1963. Carol worked for many years in the health care field and retired from Moses Cone Health Systems on January 9, 2009. She was instrumental in helping to implement new strategies to improve patient care and her colleagues shared that her organization skills were impeccable.

After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family, fellowshipping with her lodge sisters, going to brunch with her excoworkers and reading James Patterson novels. Carol loved cooking, especially baking cakes. The family's favorite was the homemade pound cake with vanilla icing. She enjoyed listening to music and was proud of her music collection which included gospel and old school R & B. Carol loved poetry and always had a poem to share at family gatherings. She loved the Lord and knew the power of prayer.

Surviving and cherishing the wonderful memories of Ms. Carol Jean Williams are her children: Filicia Michelle High (Anthony) of Whitsett, North Carolina, and Shannon Pass Nash of the home; her brother: John R. Dunmore (Rebecca) of Burlington, North Carolina, her sisters: Glenda F. Dunmore (S. Mason) of Alameda, California and Tina D. McCloud, of Roselle, New Jersey; her grandchildren: Devin Pass, Sydney High, and Sade Hamrick; her special longtime friend: Charlie Rogers; her special friend (cousin): Sylvia Groves Martin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
