Brandi Machele Ray, age 39, passed away on June 5, 2026. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. Brandi was a loving daughter, sister, wife and friend with a warm heart and uplifting spirit whose memory will be forever held in our hearts.
Brandi graduated from Ben L. Smith High School where she excelled in track and field. She completed her degrees at Guildford Tech Community College and UNCG in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Brandi cherished the time she spent with her grandmother, Lucille Bethea. She enjoyed taking on new experiences, traveling and hiking the National Parks with her husband. She was an avid sports fan, accomplished runner and motivated power lifter. She also enjoyed cooking, reading and playing basketball.
Brandi had a vibrant energy in both her professional career in Information Technology as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer and part time as a fitness coach. Brandi was ordained as a minister at Word of Life Family Fellowship Church by Pastor Kenneth Whiteside and Pastor Joan Whiteside. Brandi truly loved the Lord!
Brandi is survived by her dedicated husband, Brent McCoy Monger; parents, Marvin and Gail B. Ray; brother, Michael D. Ray (Candace Hairston-Ray); aunt, Fifi R. Wright; in-laws Ms. Willie P. Monger and Ronald E. McCoy; sisters in-law, Rhonda P. McCoy, and Brittany M. McCoy. With her union in marriage, she gained a host of caring aunts, uncles and cousins. Brandi also leaves behind many loving friends.
Brandi was a blessing from God, and she will be deeply missed. Her selflessness, vibrancy and warm spirit will be remembered forever. Brandi leaves behind a legacy of strength, love and compassion that lives on in all of us!
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026 12:00pm New Zion Missionary Baptist Church 408 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation 11:00am.
