Betty Morrison Williams was born on January 2, 1939 in Asheboro, North Carolina to the late James Thomas and Lucy Spruill Morrison. She entered into eternal rest on September 9, 2018. Betty attended Randolph County Training School where she graduated. She attended the University of North Carolina- Greensboro majoring in Culinary Science. She also worked for Guilford County Public Schools as a Kitchen Manager, at Peeler Elementary School for thirty-three (33) years where she later retired in 2004. Betty was a cancer survivor and faithful member of Holy Temple United Holy Church under the leadership of Bishop Morris R. Lewis, Sr. She was the President of the Senior Choir for more than twenty-seven (27) years. She was a faithful member until her sickness took over, yet still she remained faithful to God. Sickness did not stop her from giving God praise. She loved to sing. Some of her favorite songs were, "On My Way Home", "Showers of Blessings", and "Take Me to the King." Betty loved Bible Trivia and Bible Crossword Puzzles. Betty leaves to cherish her memories, son: Richard Michael Morrison; sister: Josephine Caviness; sisters-in-law: Dale Morrison, Glenda Whitaker and Glenda Morrison; god daughter: Nevaeh (NaNa); god brother: Rev. Lacy Ross; step daughters: Shirley, Regina, Linda, Patricia, Annette, Gloria and Deborah; grandchildren: Medina, Nadira and Josh; nieces: Eunice Thomas, Lisa Bond, Tracy Ferrell; a special thanks to friend and caregiver daughter, Elaine Holt and a very special thanks to caregiver Natalie Reed.
A service honoring her life will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Holy Temple United Holy Church; 1907 Huffine Mill Rd. 27405. The visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12 noon. The interment will take place following the service at Lakeview Memorial Park; 3600 N O'Henry Blvd.
