Brooks, OfficiatingOn February 26, 2012, Betty Lou Currie passed away suddenly in Greensboro, NC at Beacon Place. Mrs. Currie was born in Caswell County on June 27, 1934 to Mr. Willie T. Harrelson and Mrs. Rady Byrd Harrelson. Mrs. Currie graduated from Caswell County Training School in 1954. She spent many years attending church, and at an early age she became a member of Beulah Baptist Church and also Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro. Also, she often attended Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life, she retired from Purolator in Greensboro NC.Mrs. Currie leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of 57 years, Larry B. Currie Sr.; five (5) children, Larry B. Currie Jr. of Germany, Sylvia Chisholm, Pamela Spruiell, Elaine Currie Haynie (Harold) and Benjamin T. Currie (Angela) all of Greensboro; nine (9) grandchildren: Gerald A. Kennedy is attending Shaw University, Kyndra J. Chisholm is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, Dominique R. Wharton is attending North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, Miles J. Spruiell is attending Grimsley Senior High School, Kennedy B. Currie is attending Dudley High School Academy, HarLeigh D. Haynie and Kameron N. Currie are both attending Allen Middle School, LaToya Jung and Shara Jung are both attending Koblenz Gymasium in Germany; one (1) sister: Alease Poteat (James); two (2) brothers: Elma Harrelson and Kelly Harrelson both of Greensboro; a host of family and friends. Mrs. Currie was loved by all and will surely be missed by the church and her community.
