Ms. Bertha Mae Williams departed this life and entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2017 at her home. Bertha was born on January 10, 1934 in Raeford NC to the late Walter J Williams Sr & Mary P. Williams. She is preceded in death by her two brothers Walter Jr and Jerry Williams, one sister Cynthia Williams. Bertha graduated from James B. Dudley High School class of 1952. She attended N.C. A&TSU. Bertha retired from Wesley Long Hospital in 1993 after 40yrs of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Bertha enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her only child daughter Cheryl Ann Kennedy who was dedicated and her caregiver, a devoted son in law Gilbert Kennedy. The Apple of her Eye granddaughter Felicia Faison Lambert (Marvin) of Alpharetta, Ga Two faithful nieces Tracy Williams (caregiver) of Greensboro and Candy Johnson (Andrea) of Thomasville, Jessica Melvin (Michael) Greensboro, Michelle Hunt Greensboro. Nephew Jemal Williams of Thomasville. Two amazing great nieces Kenya Lyons & Cynthia Williams. Four great nephews Justin ,Diquese, Isaiah and Maliik. Three great nephews and Three great nieces and one very special great great nephew Karter Jae aka Baby and seven great great nieces. Four very Special friends Betty Herbin , Delois Hunt, Bernelle Herring and Iris Moore. A service honoring her life will be held at the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel; 909 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. The visitation will begin at 12:00pm and the service will follow at 12:30pm. The interment will take place at Carolina Biblical Gardens; 5710 Riverdale Drive, Jamestown, NC 27282.
