Bernard McNeil entered into the eternal on November 27,2018. Bernard was born on September 23, 1949. He was the oldest of 5 boys born to Thomasina Carter. Bernard attended James B. Dudley Senior High School. He joined the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart medal for his service to his country. Bernard was a longstanding member of Morningstar Lodge # 691,Greensboro Consistory # 106, and Khalif Temple # 144. Bernard was an avid bowler, serving on various leagues throughout the city. He was also a member of Rolling Thunder NC Chapter # 2 in Statesville, NC. Bernard was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother. He is survived by his lovely wife, Sheila L. McNeil, brother Andrew Carter, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 6th, in the Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home, 909 E. Market Street. The viewing will be at 11 a.m. with the service beginning at 11:30 am. Burial will be at The Veteran's Cemetery in Salisbury NC at 2 p.m.
