Barbara Ann Brown Clardy was born March 15, 1948 in Washington,D.C.to the late Annie L. Brown and Willie E. Brown. She departed this life on January21, 2015. Barbara was educated in the Guilford county public schools system where she attended Florence junior High school from 1st -9th grade. She graduated from James B. Dudley high school. She had taken various college classes at North Carolina A&T State University. She worked as a tax accountant only to leave and pursue her passion of music as she managed the Greensboro Record Center. Many years later with dedication she became the owner of Greensboro Record Center and changed the name to the Greensboro Gospel Music Center. Continuing to follow her passion she became a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where she ministered the word of God through her Sunday School classes. She was a devoted member of the usher board and a nurse aid amongst other things. Preceding her in death were her mother Annie L.Brown, her father Willie E. Brown, and her sister Elaine Deloatch. Barbara leaves behind the love of her life Rev. Dr. Kenneth Lilly, Sr. (Shadow), her children Janice Franklin(Wilbur), Don C. Brown, her grandkids Nykesha N. Brown, Cheyne E. Brown, Jaquan Adger, Michael R. Brown(Mercedes), Justin Brown, and a host of great-grands: Tashe'Anna Wall, Tyzhae McRae-Wall, Ny'Jah Oakley, Ty'Quin Brown and Da'Leighia Wilson. Barbara has five sisters Linda Branch(Thomas), Gloria Brown(Willie), Phyllis Dawson, Brenda Murphy (Jay), and Bonita Jackson (Richard). One brother Joseph Brown(Janice). Her best and dearest friend Ruby Donaldson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Our family would like to personally take this time to send our heartfelt gratitude to each and everyone who lent support, sent a card, made a call,and special hugs, kisses, and prayers.
