Artemus (Art) T. McRae Jr. was born on July 1, 1950 to the late Artemus T. and Rosena McRae. Artemus was one of seven born into this union. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. (Amos, Zeb Vance, Willie, Johnnie and Hattie) He was raised in Pinehurst, North Carolina, yet he attended Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, North Carolina. Artemus was the owner and operator of Showroom Detail Inc. Among his many passions was his love for antique cars and he was a member of The Triad Chevy Club. He served as a loyal and faithful member of the Sharpe Road Church of Christ.Artemus is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cynthia Louise; sons, Artemus T. McRae III of Paterson, New Jersey and Anthony T. McRae of the home; daughters, Melissa Williams and Melanie Whitaker (Donald) also of Paterson, New Jersey; sisters, Pauline McGregor and Sarah McRae both of Pinehurst, North Carolina; grandchildren, Justin, Ian and Azariah; and a host of family and friends.
