Obituary

Anthony (Tony) was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 24.

Tony was born on March 10, 1951 in Greensboro, and was third to the oldest of nine siblings. He was a graduate of Dudley High School and attended Croft Business College. Tony loved the Lord. He would read the Bible every day and always looked forward to dressing up for church and fellowshipping with the congregation. Though Tony was not a man of many words, he enjoyed talking about God and quoting scriptures from the Bible.

Growing up, Tony had a passion for all types of cars. He collected model car kits and loved putting them together. He displayed his collection with pride. He also enjoyed listening to different genres of music and watching westerns on television.

Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Wallington Donnell, father, William Cecil Donnell, and brother, Byron Patterson Donnell. He leaves to hold and cherish his loving memory, sisters Myrna Donnell of Decatur, GA, Wanda Donnell of Bowie, MD, Regina Donnell of Chicago, Ill, Teresa (Kurt) Walker of Williamsburg, VA, and brothers Horace (Betty) Baker of Greensboro, NC, Stanley Donnell of Greensboro, NC, Danny (Shawn) Donnell of Newark, CA, and aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will take place on Monday, May 2 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Cassie Cootes-Brown Memorial Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Carolina Biblical Gardens of Guilford.

We are greatly saddened by the passing of our brother, but find comfort in knowing that he is in God's house now, and has reunited with our loved ones that have gone home before us.
